The Iron Horse Filling Station opened at 405 Summit St. in Schulenburg, Texas on June 19, 2006. The Iron Horse moved from a drive-thru only building where it had been operating for two years. Chris and Kelly Gloger had a vision for an old vacant gas station. Six months after purchasing the property and renovating the entire building, The Iron Horse Filling Station opened for business.

The Iron Horse specializes in grilled and cold sandwiches, soups, salads and pizzas. Kelly likes to refer to it as a Tea Room in disguise. Having owned The Iron Horse Tea Room prior to the drive-thru, Kelly realized that there was a need for a more casual dining atmosphere. She offers a variety of choices on her menu including original recipes, which are like none other in Schulenburg. She prides herself on her fabulous chicken salad and loves to brag about the fact that she serves NO FRIED FOOD. The Iron Horse even offers a no guilt hamburger and fries that are not fried. A varied hot lunch is created daily and offered as the Chef’s Special. Muffins and coffees (hot or cold) are served starting at 8 a.m.
